The hypocrisy and the sheer chutzpah of the Left, and especially its press, can be absolutely breathtaking at times.

Four years ago, the focus was on President Trump’s tax reforms that lowered the top tax rates that wealthy Americans paid. Nothing was said, and the fact was ignored, that those wealthy Americans would actually see a tax hike because of the cap placed on the deductibility of state and local income and property taxes.

Today, with President Biden determined to reverse all things Trump, attention is turned to the SALT caps and, predictably, the Left is complaining that removing this cap “unfairly” benefits the wealthy.

Can there be any surprise that Democrats Pelosi and Schumer have been working assiduously to reverse the caps, along with the senators from New Jersey and Illinois? It is their states that have been hardest hit by what had been a true tax increase on their wealthy residents, and the evidence of that lies in the population statistics that show they are losing ground to lower-taxed states.
