Sebago Technics acquires Titcomb Associates

Sebago Technics announced the acquisition of Titcomb Associates of Falmouth and Bath.

“Sebago Technics and its employee-owners are excited to have David Titcomb and his experienced staff join the Sebago team,” said Mark Adams, president and CEO of Sebago Technics, in a prepared release. “Titcomb Associates’ great history, reputation and loyal client base are a wonderful addition.”

According to Adams, with the combined acquisitions of Titcomb Associates and Sawyer Engineering and Surveying in December 2020, Sebago now has the largest surveying-geomatics staff in Maine and perhaps Northern New England.

Titcomb Associates has provided surveying services throughout Maine and Northern New England for more than 50 years. The firm was founded by Robert P. Titcomb in 1969 and has been owned and operated by David Titcomb since 1985. TA has provided boundary, topographic, ALTA, roadway/highway and construction-related survey services to a wide array of private and public sector clients.

Maine Veterans’ Homes honors March veteran of the month

Call

James Call, who once played on a championship-winning Freeport High School basketball team, was named Veteran of the Month of March at Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough.

Call also served as captain of his team at Norwich University in Vermont, where he was a distinguished military student.

Two years into his military service in the Army, Call was stationed in Germany, where he initially served as a transportation officer, overseeing as many as 50 military trucks.

Back in Maine, he taught eighth graders in Auburn. Then his former basketball coach secured him a job at the junior high school in Freeport, where he spent 27 years teaching.

Local companies recognized by Maine International Trade Center

Two local companies are among the four that are being recognized by Maine International Trade Center for their ongoing commitment to strengthen their businesses through international markets.

Ocean Renewable Power Company of Portland was named the Innovator of the Year, an award that is presented to a company or organization in Maine that has accessed international markets through new and innovative processes or products. Its RivGen Power System operating in Igiugig, Alaska, is the longest operating river current energy converter system in North America. The company’s customer pipeline has expanded into more communities in Alaska, as well as Canada, Chile and Europe.

NaviTrade Structured Finance of Falmouth was awarded Service Provider of the Year, presented to a company that has established an international presence for the export of their service.

Maine’s craft beer industry is looking to international markets for business growth, and NaviTrade Structured Finance is helping brewers maximize and finance international sales.

Other award-winners were Montalvo Corporation of Gorham, Exporter of the Year, and Modula, Inc. of Lewiston, Foreign Direct Investor of the Year.
