1. Cape Elizabeth: The Capers are two-time defending Class B state champions and boast a senior class of 13, many of whom saw considerable action as sophomores. Charlotte Graham and Hannah Johnson lead the attack, while Hannah Liess, Laura Ryer and Annie Guimond anchor a solid defense that includes a new goalie, rangy Cammie Wood, who takes over for all-American Erin Foley.

2. Falmouth: Falmouth is looking for a third straight Class A state title with a mostly new cast of characters. Avi Fishman and Abby Blakeman on offense, Eva Clement in midfield and Caroline Cohen on defense played significant roles in the 2019 title run. A strong sophomore class includes midfielders Sloane Ginevan and Lucy Taylor, defenders Brooke Saulter and Sydney Shiben, and goalies Victoria Abbott and Patty Riley. Junior Kinsey Barry brings versatility to a well-balanced squad.

3. Kennebunk: A talented group of seniors provides an experienced core for the Rams, who hope to play for a state championship for the fifth time in six seasons. Lily Schwartzman at attack and Danielle Gassman in midfield are returning SMAA all-stars. Defensive stalwart Neely Connor was on the all-rookie team. Skylar Maloney and junior Sydney Dumas bolster the attack. Talia Banglmaier heads up the defense and Emily Archibald offers versatile midfield presence. The Rams defeated Cape Elizabeth, 13-2, in their opener.

4. Yarmouth: The Clippers have come up short by a goal in each of the past two Class B state title games and are poised to challenge again. Annie Lowenstein, Emma Moll and Bella Solari spearhead the attack with help from midfielders Katelyn D’Appolonia, Natalie Teare and Anna Thornton. All but D’Appolonia are seniors. On the defensive end, veterans Maddie Marston, Lizzie Guertler and Avery May are joined by Kathryn Keaney, Eleanor Donahue and junior goalie Juliet Meas.

5. Windham: The Eagles boast a senior-dominated squad attempting to reach the program’s first state championship match. Emma Yale, Carissa O’Connell and Riley Beem all were 20-plus goal scorers as sophomores. Classmates Lexi Hirning, Julia McKenna, Lily Savard and goalie Logan Carper solidify a stout defense. Senior Riley Hennessy and juniors Sidney McCusker and Isabelle Babb bring further experience to the midfield.
