WINDHAM —  Pitcher Brooke Gerry gave up just one run on eight hits while striking out nine as Windham pulled out a 3-1 win over South Portland in a softball game on Monday.

The Eagles improved to 2-1 with the win while the Red Riots fell to 1-1.

Ellen Files had two hits, including a two-run double in the first inning, for Windham.

MARSHWOOD 12, KENNEBUNK 11: Raya Anderson had a home run and a double, Sophie Mitchell added three hits, and Marshwood (3-0) pulled out a close win over the Rams (0-2).

Lianne Walker picked up the win on the mound for the Hawks. Madison Pike and Talia Kellem each had three hits for Kennebunk.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 7, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Ella Bruno finished had a pair of doubles and three RBI, Emilia Desanctis allowed two hits to go with 14 strikeouts, and the Raiders rolled to a win in Fryeburg.

Laykn Hink had an RBI double in the first for the Hawks (3-1).

DRAGONS 13, SHIPBUILDERS 4: Kelsey Sullivan finished with three hits – including a home run – and three RBI to lead Brunswick to a win over visiting Morse.

The Dragons (1-1) blew the game open late, scoring five runs in the fifth inning and six more in the sixth to take control.

For Morse, playing its first game of the season, Hailie Johnson and Brook Kulis each homered.

BASEBALL

MORSE 11, BRUNSWICK 3: Brenton Cahill struck out 10 over six innings to lead the Shipbuilders (1-0) past the Dragons (0-3) in Brunswick.

Gavin Baillargeon led the Shipbuilders with two hits, two RBI and three runs scored. Gabe Aucoin added a triple and two RBI and Tom Guild scored two runs.

Declan Lay had the lone RBI for the Dragons.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6, SACOPEE VALLEY 5: Bryce Richardson had two hits and two RBI, Eddie Thurston had three singles and the Raiders (1-1) held off a late charge to edge the Hawks (2-2) in Fryeburg

McGuire Sawyer and Tristan Croteau each had two hits for Sacopee Valley.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 10, WAYNFLETE/NYA 3: Monty Leclerc struck out six and allowed two hits, Andrew Charron and Garrett Dupee combined for five hits and five RBI, and the Seagulls (2-3) earned a win at home against Waynflete/NYA (2-1).

Gavin Sperlich, Peter Coleman and Nolan Rice each scored two runs for OOB.

BELFAST 6, OCEANSIDE 3:  Chris Kelley struck out six and helped himself with four RBI as the Lions (3-0) beat the Mariners (1-2) in Rockland.

Kelley and Austin Chilles each hit a home run for Oceanside.

Ethan Porter added a double for Belfast and Jason Bartlett had two singles.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

MARSHWOOD 14, SANFORD 1: Isabelle Young had four goals, Meagan Wentworth had two goals and four assists and Eva Moreland and Natalie Singer each scored two goals as the Hawks (2-1) built a 10-0 lead by halftime and cruised to a win over the Spartans (0-2) in South Berwick.

Kassie Plante scored for Sanford and Kora Eckelman made 13 saves.

SCARBOROUGH 12, THORNTON ACADEMY 7: Natalie Bilodeau scored four goals to lead the Red Storm (2-0) over the Golden Trojans (1-1) in Scarborough.

Darby Stolz scored three goals for Scarborough while Paige Spooner had two and Meagan Donovan had one goal with two assists. Kathleen Murphy made 11 saves in net.

Izzy White led Thornton with a three goals and Hazel Stoddard scored twice.
