Kudos to Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins for leading the effort to reinstate limits on methane emissions! These regulations were repealed in the previous administration, and our Maine senators deserve high praise for correcting this dangerous misstep (particularly Sen. Collins, who bravely provided the only Republican vote).
Having the distinction as the only state with both senators on the bipartisan Senate Climate Solutions Caucus, Maine is uniquely positioned to steer effective, equitable and expedient climate policy. We hope this recent resolution is a harbinger of further bold policies that match the daunting scale of the climate crisis.
In their efforts to address this existential threat, our lawmakers should know: We’ve got your back!
