SACO — Izzy White scored four goals and Thornton Academy held off Cheverus for an 11-9 girls’ lacrosse win on Monday.

Morgan Bolduc and Hazel Stoddard each scored twice for Thornton Academy (2-1). Emma Boissonneault, Abby Brown and Grace Veroneau all had one goal.

Riley O’Mara led Cheverus (1-2) with five goals. Neve Cawley made 16 saves in net.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 14, GARDINER 6: Emma Sharpe had six goals and an assist, Lilly Weinrich added five and three assists and the Panthers (2-1) controlled the game defensively and came out with a win over the Tigers (1-1) in Gardiner.

Goalie Ally White made 13 saves for NYA.

Emma Bourget had four goals for Gardiner and Lilly Diversi had two. Skye Cotnoir stopped 12 shots in goal.

SOUTH PORTLAND 15, WESTBROOK 2: Anne Von Seggern had four goals and three assists to pace the offense as the Red Riots (3-1) beat the Blue Blazes (0-4) in South Portland.

Kate Von Seggern had three goals and a pair of assists, Ally Trefsger had three goals and Abby Trefsger added two.

YARMOUTH 8, WAYNFLETE 5: Caiteline D’Appolonia had three goals and Annie Powers added two as the Clippers (2-1) topped the Flyers (2-2) in Portland.

Waynflete got goals from Lolie Millspaugh, Jesse Connors, Kilee Sherry, Claire Dinapoli and Kaitlin Bliss.

Juliet Meas turn back four shots for Yarmouth, while Emily Girard had five saves for the Flyers.

BRUNSWICK 14, CONY 4: Emily Cloutier had four goals and an assist and Gwen Thom added three goals as Brunswick (3-1) with beat the Rams in Brunswick.

SOFTBALL

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 9, LAKE REGION 8: Skye Chandler had a double, triple and two-run home run and Morgan Curtis had a double and two RBI as the Patriots (4-1) edged the Lakers (2-4) in Gray.

Madi Pelletier got the pitching win for the Patriots by scattering five hits while striking out five strikeouts

Melissa Mayo had a double, two singles, a walk and two RBI for Lake Region. Emily Rock hit a three-run home run.

BIDDEFORD 12, PORTLAND 0: Laura Perreault went 3 for 3, with a double in the first and a home run in the third, and drove in in four runs as the Tigers (4-0) beat the Bulldogs (0-3) in five innings in Portland.

Baylor Wilkinson was 3 for 4 with a pair of RBI and three runs scored, while starter Chantelle Bouchard allowed three hits while striking out eight. Bouchard also added a pair of hits.

MASSABESIC 12, WELLS 0: Emily Antrim allowed two hits while striking out 12 with no walks as the Mustangs (2-3) cruised to a five-inning win over the Warriors (0-3) in Waterboro.

Antrim, Katelyn Boissonneault, Madison Gray, and Ellie Salvatore all keyed a six-run third inning for the Mustangs.

MORSE 22, YARMOUTH 0: Camdyn Johnson struck out 13, walked one and didn’t allow a hit as the Shipbuilders (1-1) earned a five-inning win over the Clippers (0-2) in Bath.

Abby Carpenter, Micaila Peterson and Brooke Kulis were repeat hitters for Morse.

KENNEBUNK 16, YORK 4: After falling behind 4-0 in the first inning, the Rams (2-2) scored 16 unanswered runs and beat the Wildcats in Kennebunk.

Julia Pike had three hits, including a double, and four RBI, and pitched four no-hit innings, striking out seven. Lucy Stone also had a double.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 13, POLAND 6: Camden Jones had a grand slam and a triple as the Raiders (4-0) beat the Knights (4-2) in Fryeburg.

Jones went 2 for 4 with five RBI and Morgan Fusco added three hits.

A bases-loaded double from Emma Bunyea helped Poland to a six-run second inning. Maggie McGlauflin had three hits.

BASEBALL

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 10, LAKE REGION 0: Starter Wyatt Kenney threw a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts, and had a two-run double during a  five-run first inning, to lead the Patriots (1-5) past the Lakers (4-2) at Gray.

Kenney finished with two hits and three RBI for Gray-New Gloucester, while Mike Sweeney added a pair of hits.

MARSHWOOD 6, BERWICK ACADEMY 5: A two-run double from Sam Peterson and a Noah Fitzgerald sacrifice fly sparked athree-run surge in the fourth inning as the Hawks (3-3) edged the Bulldogs (1-2) in Berwick.

Marshwood’s DJ Cagnina got the win, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out three in four innings. He also went 3 for 4 with a run scored, while Peterson and Chase Stanley finished with a pair of hits each.

Tyler Shelgren and Tucker Boys had two hits each for Berwick Academy.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 7, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Montgomery Leclerc allowed one hit in four innings and picked up the win as the Seagulls (3-3) beat the Hawks (3-3) in Old Orchard Beach.

Peter Coleman had a three-run single for Old Orchard Beach and Nolan Rice finished with three singles.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6, POLAND 5: The Raiders (2-2) pulled ahead with a squeeze in the bottom of the 13th and edged the Knights (1-4) in Fryeburg.

Poland took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh after trailing 4-1 early.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 14, ST. DOMINIC 2: Chris Hamblett scored five goals to lead the Panthers (3-1) over the Saints (1-2) in Lewiston.

Brayden Warde provided four goals and a pair of assists for NYA, Caleb Waterman had two goals and four assists, while Chas Rohde, James Tourigny and Alex Wignall also scored.

Garrett Kendall scored for St. Dominic.
