I am writing to encourage voters in District 4 to support Cheryl Leeman to the Portland Charter Commission.
Simply stated, I’ve served with Cheryl on the City Council and even when we did not agree, I have always found her to be balanced, with an unusual ability to look at all sides of an issue before coming to a conclusion. Further, Cheryl has an almost unparalleled wealth of institutional knowledge to bring to the job, making her presence on the commission invaluable.
The work of the commission is important. Cheryl will bring balance with a commitment to a thoughtful, reasoned approach, listening to all the varied viewpoints with civility and respectfulness. The public can trust her to be open-minded and fair, with a commitment to full public participation. She will have our best interest and that of the city of Portland in mind as to final recommendations.
On June 8, please vote for Cheryl Leeman!
