SCARBOROUGH — Ronan Flynn’s second goal of the game with 3.6 seconds remaining gave Thornton Academy a 4-3 win over Scarborough in a boys’ lacrosse game Thursday night.

Tae Delaware scored 8:00 into the contest and Owen Leadley added a pair of second-quarter goals as Scarborough (5-2) took a 3-2 halftime lead.

Ethan LeBlanc and Alex St. John also scored for Thornton (5-3).

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

KENNEBUNK 14, THORNTON ACADEMY 3: Ruby Sliwkowski scored four goals to lead the Rams (7-0) past the Golden Trojans (2-4) at Saco.

Lily Schwartzman and Emily Archibald each added three goals.

Izzy White, Abby Brown and Morgan Bolduc were the goal scorers for Thornton.

MASSABESIC 13, GORHAM 3: Noelle Desvergnes scored four times to power the Mustangs (5-2) past the Rams (2-4) at Gorham.

Massabesic also got three goals from Emily Baver and two each from Emily Jacobs, Mary Duff and Bri Stephenson.

Allie Light, Allie Myles and Gracie Forgues scored for Gorham.

SOFTBALL

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER SWEEPS NYA: Morgan Curtis belted a two-run homer and Anna Gilbert hit an RBI triple as the host Patriots (7-1) completed a doubleheader sweep against the Panthers (2-2) with a 4-2 victory, after taking a 13-1 win in the opener.

Madison Pelletier, the winning pitcher in Game 2, finished the day with five hits.

Ashley Lang drove in four runs in Game 1 with a double and a triple, and Caitlin Taylor had three hits.

BASEBALL

YORK 6, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Hayden Henrickson allowed just four hits and two runs over six innings and also scored twice to lead the Wildcats (6-4) past the Seagulls (4-5) at the Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach.

Jamie Sperlich had two hits for Old Orchard Beach.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

MARSHWOOD: Angie Littlefield, previously an assistant coach for the Hawks, has been appointed as the program’s varsity head coach.

Littlefield served as Marshwood’s interim head coach in 2013-14. She also has been an assistant coach for track and field and girls’ soccer.
