Hundreds of volunteers have come forth to raise money for and assist in home deliveries for the closed food pantry, reinvent the operation of the shuttered library and maintain and manage the much-utilized trails and open spaces.

And special kudos to our town staff who, in spite of their own personal COVID challenges, have shown amazing resourcefulness, dedication and energy. Some examples include:

• Stepping up communications to inform us of closures and new ways of doing critical town business, as well as providing a steady stream of information in mailings, e-alerts and almost daily Facebook updates regarding business, senior and general COVID resources.
• Facilitating and partnering to recreate planned public events into virtual events, creating videos, activity sheets and shop local promotions to support Falmouth businesses.
• Making weekly wellness calls to over 100 seniors to ascertain their needs and, in many cases, doing their shopping and obtaining and providing scarce paper products.
• Reaching out and supporting over 700 Falmouth businesses through numerous emails and a well-attended webinar regarding financial resources, rules and regulations, as well as communicating new operating opportunities.

We are truly fortunate to be able to live in Falmouth and this is just another reason why.
