Lt. Lauren Chatmas, a Cape Elizabeth native, received the Thompson-Ravitz Award for U.S. Navy’s Junior Public Affairs Officer for her work through 2020 until April 2021. Chatmas is a Destroyer Squadron SEVEN’s (DESRON 7) public affairs officer. According to a press release, she served two sea tours on the USS Porter (DDG 78) and USS Lassen (DDG 82), and later was stationed at the Pentagon until she transferred to the Navy’s public affairs community.  Courtesy photo Navy Office of Community Outreach
