Carter Page hit a two-run single in the 10th inning to lift Portland to a 3-2 baseball win over Windham on Saturday at Hadlock Field.

Portland (4-10) overcame a 23-strikeout performance by Windham’s Brady Afthim, who allowed three hits and walked none in 8 1/3 innings before he reached his maximum pitch limit.

CHEVERUS, FALMOUTH SPLIT: Patrick Gill drove in three runs and Brady Coyne added two RBI as Falmouth (12-3) earned a doubleheader split against Cheverus (11-5) with an 8-0 victory, after the visiting Stags took a 2-1 win in Game 1.

Eli Cowperthwaite allowed four hits over six innings to earn the Game 2 victory.

In Game 1, Sam Clark gave up three hits in 6 2/3 innings and Brian Connolly recorded the final out. Nick Giancotti hit a solo home run for Cheverus.

Bennett Smith pitched a three-hitter for Falmouth, but an unearned run in the fourth was the difference.

SANFORD, NOBLE SPLIT: Dan Williams hit a grand slam to power Sanford (5-8) to a 12-6 win over Noble (7-8) in a doubleheader opener at North Berwick.

Ashton Smith had three hits and two RBI, and Hayden Connarton added a three-run double.

In the second game, Christopher Morton, Kyle Druge and Maison Mathews each hit an RBI single for Noble in a 6-4 win.

Timothy Curley had three hits and an RBI for Sanford.

SOFTBALL

LAKE REGION 7, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 5: Emily Rock homered twice to push the Lakers (8-7) past the Panthers (6-4) in Yarmouth.

Rock’s launched her first home run well beyond the outfield fence, then raced around the bases for an inside-the-park homer.

Kasey Johnson contributed a single and a double in support of winning pitcher Melissa Mayo.

Acadia Gee led NYA with three hits.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

FALMOUTH 11, SCARBOROUGH 10: Eva Clement scored her third goal of the game in overtime to give Falmouth (9-3) a win at home against  Scarborough (9-3) in a regular-season finale for both teams.

Sloane Ginevan led Falmouth, the top-ranked team in Class A North, with five goals. Lucy Taylor added a goal and two assists, and Clement also set up two goals.

Darby Stolz scored five goals and Natalie Bilodeau finished with three for Scarborough, which is ranked second in Class A South.

PORTLAND 8, DEERING 3: Elizabeth Littell scored three goals to lead the visiting Bulldogs (6-6) past the Rams (2-4).

Ella Reagan added two goals, Chelsea Dana had a goal and an assist, and Lydia Stein and Mia Merrill also scored for Portland.

Morgan Shibles scored twice and Shea Rosenthal got the other goal for Deering.

BIDDEFORD 17, TRAIP ACADEMY 5: Valentina Laflamme scored four goals, Cece Keller had three goals and three assists, and Abby Allen collected two goals and four assists as the Tigers (7-4) defeated the Rangers (0-11) in Biddeford.

Biddeford also got two goals from Emma McAlevey, and a goal and three assists from Melandi Martel.

Julia Durling paced Traip with three goals.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

PORTLAND 15, CHEVERUS 2: Sam Gerber led the Bulldogs (7-3) with seven goals and an assist in a win over the visiting Stags (5-6).

Ben Littell finished with three goals and two assists, and Drew Leonard got a goal and three assists.

Johnny Sylvain made seven saves for Portland.
