SCARBOROUGH — Elisabeth LeFebvre scored eight of her 12 points in the third quarter as Scarborough charged into the lead on the way to defeating previously undefeated Cheverus, 45-40, in a Class AA girls’ basketball game Friday.

Scarborough (7-2), which dealt Gorham its first loss of the season on Tuesday, used a 10-5 advantage in the quarter to open a 33-29 lead after trailing 24-23 at halftime.

Emerson Flaker hit five 3-pointers for her 15 points for Scarborough, helping to open room in the middle for LeFebvre.

Julia Kratzer led Cheverus (8-1) with 14 points.

DEERING 44, SOUTH PORTLAND 41: Nyabhana Lia scored 16 points and Ariana Sibo added 10 as the Rams (2-9) edged Red Riots (3-8) at South Portland.

Ella McGowan chipped in with nine points for Deering, which led 16-7 after one quarter and held on after a third-quarter surge by the Red Riots.

Ava Bryant scored 12 points for South Portland.

GREELY 47, CAPE ELIZABETH 30: Asja Kelman scored 13 points to lead the Rangers (7-2) against the Capers (1-7) in Cumberland.

Kaiyla Delisle added 12 points and Sophia Ippolito finished with 10, including two 3-pointers, for the Rangers, who outscored the Capers 30-14 over the middle two quarters.

Olivia Manning scored 15 points and Meghan Conley had seven for Cape Elizabeth.

SANFORD 55, KENNEBUNK 20: Jaylyn Bartolome, Riley Hebler and Hailey Tarbox all finished with 10 points to lead the Spartans (3-7) over the Rams (0-7) in Sanford.

Ruby Sliwkowski paced Kennebunk with 11 points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 57, SACOPEE VALLEY 29: Elise MacNair scored 23 points and Sarah Davis added 13 as the Seagulls (10-2) cruised past the Hawks (1-8) in Hiram.

Brooke Landry scored 10 points for Sacopee Valley.

WINDHAM 54, EDWARD LITTLE 24: Sarah Talon scored nine of her 19 points to lead a 15-8 third quarter as the Eagles (8-3) pulled away from the Red Eddies (2-9) at Windham.

Carly Morey chipped in with 10 points. Stella Jarvais added eight.

Edward Little’s Rachel Penny made three 3-pointers for nine points.

BRUNSWICK 47, MT. ARARAT 31: Logan Brown continued her torrid long-range shooting, hitting five 3-pointers as the Dragons (8-0) defeated the Eagles (7-5) at Brunswick.

Brown has totaled 21 3-pointers in the past four games. She finished with 20 points and five steals.

Brunswick opened a 12-4 lead in the first quarter, extended it to 25-15 at halftime and cruised from their.

Morgan Foster had six rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Dragons.

Cali Pomerleau led the Eagles with 11 points.

GORHAM 58, THORNTON ACADEMY 43: Anna Nelson made five 3-pointers and scored 29 points as the Rams (9-1) beat the Golden Trojans (7-3) in Saco.

Mikenzie Melendez led Thornton with 22 points.

YORK 50, TRAIP ACADEMY 41: Emily Rainforth scored 19 points to power the Wildcats (5-3) to a win over the Rangers (7-5) in York.

Ava Giancobba dropped in 10 points for York.
