Maurice “Pete” R. Goodson Jr.

CONCORD, N.H. – Maurice “Pete” Goodson passed away unexpectedly at Concord Hospital on Jan. 18, 2022. He was 77 years young.

Pete was born on July 21, 1944 in Saco and resided in the Standish area for many years before moving to Concord, N.H. He proudly served six years in the United States Navy Submarine Division. He worked for 43 years in the telecommunications industry throughout Maine, New York and New Hampshire. He retired from his career in 2010 at TDS Telecom in Contoocook, N.H.

Pete’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife and family. Some of his other passions included serving as an Elder with his wife in his church community and providing spiritual leadership and guidance to individuals and couples in need. Pete was a very talented musician and singer. He and his wife enjoyed ministering together and they were also key members of various gospel groups, traveling throughout the country ministering in a countless number of churches.

Pete is survived by his wife Diana “Dee”, who was the love of his life. They were married for 56 years and enjoyed a wonderful life together. They shared four children together, Kelly, Wendy, Kristy and Casey. Pete also loved his grandkids Ashley, Megan, Chelsi, Tyler, Adrianna, Samantha, Marissa, Elias; his great-grandson, Chandler; and his many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy; his sisters Judy and Elaine; his mother, Beryl and his father, Maurice.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, Church Street Hall on 209 N Main St., Concord, NH 03301. Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., with services to follow. Please note, masks will be required.
