WINDHAM – Carla Lynn LaRoche, 56, of Windham, surrounded by her loving husband and children passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father the evening of Jan. 18, 2022. She was born May 23, 1965 to Carol A. (Partridge) Rogers and Albert Rogers Sr. She grew up in Windham and graduated from Grace Baptist Church in 1983. She met her husband, Paul R. LaRoche, of Alfred, the summer of 1984. After a short courtship they wed June 28, 1985 and shared the last 35 years creating memories.

Carla had a servant’s heart and loved to bless others any way she could. She was a faithful member at Grace Baptist Church in Portland and follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was an avid reader, she loved their farm, volunteering with the Red Cross, working the church booth at the Cumberland Fair, Vacation Bible School, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, square dancing and travelling our beautiful country with family and friends.

Carla and Paul recently returned from Guatemala where they blessed local missionaries and explored the area. Upon her return, she spoke of this trip at every opportunity. She even used her medical skills to save a life, but that was Carla!

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Whenever she was with them, she had the biggest smile on her face and joy filled her heart. She loved baking cookies and whoopie pies, coloring, exploring new adventures and giving them all the love and snuggles she could.

She was preceded by her father, Albert Rogers Sr., father and mother-in-law, Robert and Cecile LaRoche; sister-in-law, Nancy LaRoche; and three precious grandbabies.

Those left to carry on her legacy include her husband of 35 years, Paul LaRoche; and their three children, Sarah Milton and her husband, Jonathan, Elizabeth Yer and her husband, Jackson, and Matthew LaRoche and his wife, Holly; her mother, Carol Rogers and her husband, Fred Staples; brothers Brian Rogers, Albert Rogers Jr. and his wife, Jean, Craig Rogers and his wife, Deborah, Lance Rogers and his fiancé, Elizabeth, sisters Debra Tucker and Sharon Widger; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her most cherished legacy are her 10 grandchildren who miss their “Memere” dearly, Zemirah (9), Lorelei (8), Radiance (7), Leo (6), Harper (6), Carys (5), Ellie (5), Audrey (4), Isaac (2) and Kunipi (born Jan. 22).

Visitation will be held, 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Grace Baptist Church, 476 Summit St., Portland where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. There will be a reception in the church’s family center immediately following the service.
