Like most native-born Americans, I was routinely inoculated as a child against various infectious diseases such as polio, rabies, measles, diphtheria, whooping cough, etc. And since I was a member of the armed forces who served overseas, I was inoculated against several other infectious diseases. Therefore, I have no fear of being infected by anyone who has not been inoculated against those diseases.
I have also been vaccinated three times to prevent being infected by the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, I have no fear of being infected by anyone who has not been vaccinated against that disease. At worst, I might have a mild reaction to one of its variants.
President Biden’s pronouncement that we now have “a pandemic of the unvaccinated” is scientific nonsense. And Sen. Angus King’s assertion that we must eliminate security measures, such as the requirement to present a valid ID when voting, or “democracy (will) start to fall apart” is insane.
