Aroma Joe’s is now offering new, custom-blended, organic Berry Hibiscus, Lemongrass Green, Mint, Earl Grey and Breakfast teas. It has also launched new Egg Bites, one with veggies and another made with egg whites and cheese. The local Aroma Joe’s are located at 156 Pleasant St., Brunswick, and 135 Leeman Highway, Bath.

Aroma Joe’s in Brunswick, Bath and several others in the area also celebrated the franchise’s BeanAversary on Jan. 16 by continuing to honor the promise made four years ago to use only Rainforest Alliance Certified beans in their proprietary blends. Free coffee was also given out to customers.

Local food news

Last week I mentioned the delicious Monkfish Stew created by the Maine Coast Fisherman’s Association. It is produced by Hurricane’s Premium Soups & Chowders and is available frozen in heat-and-serve pouches. Retail locations include Morning Glory Natural Foods in Brunswick and Fork Food Lab in Portland. MCFA’s website at mainecoastfishermen.org/monkfishstew includes a map of other retail and dining locations where the stew is available. The Frontier Café and the Brunswick Diner, both in Brunswick, feature it on their menus.

Graze at Pineland Farms has announced its first dinner of the season will be June 17. The menu includes a signature cocktail by Cold River, followed by a four-course amuse bouche-style dinner accompanied by local wines or craft beers. Summer CSAs

Wolfe’s Neck Center, 184 Burnett Road, Freeport, began selling Community Supported Agriculture shares Feb. 3 at wolfesneck.org/visit/food/csa. The shares run for 18 weeks from June to October and include veggies, herbs and flowers.
