YARMOUTH — Cate King scored 13 points for fourth-seeded Yarmouth, who took control in the second half to beat No. 13 Cape Elizabeth, 42-29, in a Class B South girls’ basketball preliminary-round game Wednesday.

Neena Panozzo added 11 points and Maya Panozzo finished with 10 for Yarmouth (13-7), which outscored the Capers 26-12 in the second half. Lexi Clark hit a pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter.

The Clippers next face No. 5 York in the quarterfinals at noon Saturday at the Portland Expo.

Emily Supple had 12 points and Olivia Manning chipped in with nine for the Capers (2-14).

YORK 56, POLAND 35: Ava Giacobba scored 16 points as the fifth-seeded Wildcats (10-5) advanced against the 12th-seeded Knights (4-14) in a Class B South prelim in York.

Clara Pavuk added 14 points, while Emily Rainforth finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals.

Gabbi Bolduc led Poland with 12 points.

SCARBOROUGH 40, BONNY EAGLE 26: Lindsay Fiorillo hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter to pace a 13-2 run and lead the second-seeded Red Storm (15-4) past the seventh-seeded Scots (3-13) in a Class AA South quarterfinal at Scarborough.

Fiorillo finished with 17 points as Scarborough advanced to the semifinals next Wednesday at Cross Insurance Arena against No. 3 Thornton Academy.

Kaitlyn Bartash scored 11 points and Ember Hastings tossed in 10 for Bonny Eagle.

MASSABESIC 56, SANFORD 35: Micaela Jacobs put in 22 points to help the fourth-seeded Mustangs (13-5) beat the fifth-seeded Spartans (7-11) in a Class AA South quarterfinal in Waterboro.

Hannah Samson added 14 points for Massabesic, which will face No. 1 Gorham in the semifinals next Wednesday at Cross Insurance Arena. Mary Duffy scored 10 points.

Riley Hebler led Sanford with 12 points. Jaylyn Bartolome had 11.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 56, KENNEBUNK 22: Alyssa Howard scored 14 points off the bench to lead the fifth-seeded Patriots (13-6) over the 12th-seeded Rams (0-16) in a Class A South prelim in Gray.

Caitlin Taylor added eight points and Amber Fortin had seven points for the Patriots, who advance to face No. 4 Mt. Ararat in the quarterfinals on Monday at the Portland Expo.

Cassie Mackenzie led Kennebunk with six points.

OXFORD HILLS 63, DEERING 30: Sierra Carson made five 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to lead the top-seeded Vikings (17-2) over the No. 8 Rams (4-16) in a Class AA North quarterfinal in Paris.

Ella Pelletier scored 13 points and Molly Corbett helped out with 10 for Oxford Hills.

Maya Gayle topped Deering with seven points.
