Coyote Island is the four-piece indie-folk band formed and fronted by Mike O’Hehir. Born in Reading, England, O’Hehir moved to Maine as a kid and these days calls Biddeford home.

The first Coyote Island single was 2020’s “Here Before,” and in the same year, the band also released “Hello Silence,” “11” and “Golden Rule.”

O’Hehir is back in action with a seven-song Coyote Island EP due out in May. The single “Same Thing” was released on Jan. 14, and the latest, called “Back Alive,” came out last week. The introspective tune bounces along with a steady beat and lyrics that signify a sense of renewal in both a relationship and life. There’s a bigness to its sound, especially with the refrain that draws the listener in.

Here’s “Back Alive:”
