I read, with puzzlement, Jerry Genesio’s Feb. 20 letter to the editor, in which he called on President Biden to take steps to eradicate fascism, presumably in the United States.

Apparently he believes the Greatest Generation failed to win the “battle” against Adolf Hitler so, therefore, fascism still exists. He further says that former President “Donald Trump … has made it clear that battlefield must be revisited.” Is he suggesting Trump is a fascist or that Trump must fight fascism? Sounds murky.

By a long shot, the threat to democracy is coming from the Democrats. A federal appeals court ruled President Obama’s law, demanding that citizens purchase health insurance or be labeled a lawbreaker (is this the fascism Mr. Genesio is concerned about?), as unconstitutional. Moreover, the Democrats are attempting to ram through “voting rights” legislation that the Supreme Court previously ruled unconstitutional.

For further threats to democracy, read books written by today’s left leaders. I’ve read Stacey Abrams “Our Time is Now,” and two of Vice President Kamala Harris’ books, “The Truths We Hold” and “We’re Speaking” (sounds fascist), and flipped through those by many other left leaners. They tell their visions for the future of the United States, but, for the most part, their visions are unconstitutional.

And, if Mr. Genesio is fearful, as he says he is, about Trump, he can recall that seven people (including a group of four Australian law professors) announced four separate nominations of Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, whereas Biden’s undiagnosed aloofness is poised to start World War lll.
