Head to the midcoast to see one of Scotland’s premiere, multi-award-winning folk acts. Talisk comprises Mohsen Amini, Benedict Morris and Graeme Armstrong who shape a captivating sound with concertina, fiddle and guitar. The trio has traveled around the world playing shows and festivals, and its performance opens the season at the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor.

Folk musicians David Wax and Suz Slezak together are known as the Mexo-Americana act David Wax Museum. Its latest albums are “Remember My Future” and “Euphoric Ouroboric,” and Slezak is releasing the solo album “Our Wings May Be Featherless” on Friday. At their Portland show, they’ll be joined by producer and multi-instrumentalist Alec Spiegelman making it a trio performance.

Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Allison Russell is a member of Birds of Chicago, Po’ Girl and, most recently, Our Native Daughters. Last year, she released debut solo album “Outside Child” to critical acclaim. She’s up for three Grammy awards in April for best Americana album, and the single “Nightflyer” was nominated for best American roots performance and best American roots song. Singer-songwriter Kyshona opens the show, and you don’t want to miss her set, in particular the 2020 song “Listen.”
