SCARBOROUGH — Harbor Fish Market and Rosemont Market & Bakery have opened their new location at the old fire house in Scarborough on Oak Hill on March. 8.  

Harbor Fish Market and Rosemont Market & Bakery will be working collaboratively at their new 4,800-square-foot market to contribute fresh, locally sourced, quality food to the Scarborough community. The fish market will offer more prepared foods, such as lobster rolls, crab rolls, chowders, poke bowls, seafood salads, calamari salads and pates.  

Harbor Fish Market has been supplying fresh seafood to four Rosemont locations.

The two companies began their venture to open a combined location in Scarborough in 2020, but the project came to a halt due to the pandemic.  

According to an earlier statement made by Mike Alfiero, co-owner of Harbor Fish Market, both Harbor and Rosemont have a history together and have developed a relationship over the years.  

“We talked many times that, if the opportunity arose where we could do a project like this, that we were going to try and do it,” Alfiero said. “Their business philosophy is very similar to ours; we support our local fishermen, we care about sustainability, we want a quality selection, offer great service. … I think it’s just a great fit.” 

This will be the second location for the Harbor Fish Market, which has been selling seafood on Custom House Wharf in Portland since 1966. The new market will be the eighth location for Rosemont, which began operations in 2005.  

The store is located at the old fire station on 246 U.S. Route 1, which closed when a new Public Service building opened. The market has joined the growing community of locally owned restaurants, coffee shops and stores.  

The market is open seven days a week and will offer curbside grocery pick-up.
