Andrew Matulis, Esq. has joined Linnell, Choate & Webber LLP as an associate. Matulis brings more than 12 years of litigation experience to the firm. He will practice criminal defense, family law, protections from abuse/harassment, child protective, and general civil litigation.

Ray Steen has joined General Dynamics Bath Iron Works as vice president, human resources. Steen comes to BIW from another General Dynamics business unit, Ordinance and Tactical Systems, where he has worked since 2006.

RECOGNITIONS

Joe McBrine

Game Warden Joe McBrine of the Machias district was honored as the Maine Game Warden of the Year. McBrine has served as a Maine game warden for 27 years. He spent the majority of his career in the Lubec patrol, and has served in Machias for five years.

Sgt. Bruce Loring

Sgt. Bruce Loring, of Division D, Greenville, was recognized as Maine Game Warden Supervisor of the Year. Loring has been a game warden since 1995. He was recognized for his work with operation Stonegarden in Washington County, and his work with partners such as the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Border Patrol and Customs Enforcement.

The following people were recognized with Diversified Communication’s 7 Cs Award: Allie Keeley, digital marketing manager; Jess Woods, financial planning analysis manager and Whit Mitchell, chief financial officer.

Hannaford Supermarkets was recognized as a Patriot Employer by Disabled American Veterans. To be recognized as a DAV Patriot Employer, a company must meet numerous criteria for hiring, retaining and supporting those who served.

Aaron MacArthur

Dr. Aaron MacArthur was recognized by the Maine Chiropractic Association with its Chiropractor of the Year Award. MacArthur practices at Portland Chiropractic Neurology, where he treats patients with conditions including spine issues migraines, concussions and vestibular rehabilitation.

Central Maine Medical Center recently awarded two nurses, Jacqueline Schmitz, RN, and Kara Shufeldt, RN, with the DAISY Award.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Blaine Boudreau

Blaine Boudreau, president and chief executive officer of Partners Bank, was named chair of the Maine Bankers Association. Boudreau joined Partners Bank in 2003 and previously held the positions of senior vice president of commercial lending.

The Maine Economic Research Institute announced the following appointments to its board of directors.
Clif Greim, president of Frosty Hill Consulting, was elected chair of the board. Greim also serves as board chair of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and chair of the board for Educate Maine.
Kimberly Lindlof was elected vice chair of the board. Lindlof is president and chief executive officer of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and has been executive director of the Central Maine Growth Council since 2014.
Simon West was named board president. West is director of human resources director for the Maine State Chamber of Commerce. West has worked in banking and finance since 2010.

Wendy Byrd

Wendy Byrd, an account manager at Allen Insurance and Financial, earned a Group Benefits Disability Specialist designation from The Hartford School of Insurance. Byrd has been with Allen Insurance and Financial since 2017.
