KeyBank Maine Market President Raymond “Chip” Kelley announced Monday that he will be retiring in November. Kelley, a graduate of Colby College, has worked in the commercial banking industry for nearly 40 years, much of which he has spent in Maine.
Kelley joined KeyBank in 2005 after working in commercial banking institutions in Boston, Atlanta and Portland. In 2018 he was appointed KeyBank Maine market president, where he worked as the face of KeyBank in Maine.
In his role at the bank, he has worked to give back to the Maine community through KeyBank’s National Community Benefits Plan. The plan, established in 2017, has directed $436 million toward Maine communities through small business lending and affordable housing investments aimed at workforce development and education.
Before beginning his career in commercial banking in 1985, Kelley worked as a history and math teacher at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Connecticut. Outside of his work with the bank, Kelley serves on the boards of a number of Maine-based companies, including Piper Shores, a Scarborough retirement community, and the Maine International Trade Center.
