We have two candidates running for governor in Maine who have held office recently, so we can see a clear choice. Democrat Janet Mills is a leader who invites collaboration; who celebrates diversity and who – in the words of my favorite campaign slogan of the decade — believes in “fighting problems, not each other.” She and her well-chosen team of leaders guided us through the worst of the COVID pandemic with exemplary results among the states.

Her first term has included progress in providing access to health care to more Mainers, meeting the state’s legislated share of costs for public education and doing right by our tribal neighbors whose ancestors were here generations before ours, as well as new Mainers arriving from African countries seeking the peace and safety we enjoy.

A vote for Mills is a vote for positive, steady, respectful leadership. Please join me in reelecting Gov. Mills.
