The Brunswick Downtown Association’s benefit auction will be held in person this year. After two years hosting the fundraiser online, the BDA is bringing back their Live and Silent Auction on Oct. 20 at NOMAD Maine (formerly the Frontier) located at 14 Maine St. in Fort Andross. NOMAD will serve a variety of their classic, wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and fresh salads with a focus on local ingredients. A cash bar will be available.
BDA’s Magic on Maine auction is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Brunswick Downtown Association, whose mission is to promote downtown Brunswick as a vibrant and attractive place to live, work, play and do business. All funds raised will support Brunswick Downtown Association’s community events and programs, which are predominately free to attend. These annual events include Music on the Mall – a 10 concert series, Community BBQ, Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival, Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa, and Early Bird Sale.
“The BDA works tirelessly to create a downtown in our community that is warm, inviting, a fun place to visit. and an even better place to live. Your support is crucial to our efforts.” said Deb King, BDA executive director.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the silent auction opens immediately and closes at 6:15 p.m. At 6:20 p.m., Auctioneer John Bottero will begin the live auction. Local businesses and individuals have donated an impressive variety of items. Examples include, two Lectric brand e-bikes (valued at $1,000 each), dinner for 10 at Pepper’s Landing restaurant, a Rockland Escape with lunch or dinner at Primo restaurant, an overnight at Canopy Portland Waterfront Hotel with dinner at Fore Street, Season tickets to Maine State Music Theatre, Sugarloaf Ski & Stay (two nights), a full-page, full-color ad in The Times Record and many more.
