The Maine Mariners scored three goals in the final three minutes Sunday afternoon to secure a 5-2 ECHL win over the Trois-Rivières Lions at Cross Insurance Arena.
The Mainers were clinging to a 2-1 lead until Patrick Shea provided some breathing room with a power-play goal with 2:30 remaining. Nick Jermain and Fedor Gordeev tacked on empty-net goals, offsetting a late goal by Anthony Beauregard for Trois-Rivières.
Jermain finished with two goals, Gordeev and Cameron Askew each had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Bussi made 38 saves for Maine, which won 2 of 3 in its season-opening weekend series against Trois-Rivières.
