The goblins and ghouls will be the only things scaring you this Halloween as the weather remains quiet.
Over the years we’ve had some big storms on the last day of October, so this is a welcome break from that. The rain holds off until after midnight Monday with mild temps for all the trick-or-treaters.
Look for mild temps to continue as we get into the first week of November. I expect the pattern to stay dry, too with a break from the rain after a stormy couple of weeks recently.
This is all due to a big trough in the atmosphere setting up for the west coast. The weather is always trying to balance itself and that means the deeper the trough out west, the bigger the ridge for the east coast.
Have you taken your A/C unit out of the window yet? It will be warming up to near 70 degrees this week with that East Coast ridge and a big area of high-pressure parking overhead.
The average wake-up temp for this time of year is mid-30s. We will be pushing 40s most of the upcoming week. On average this time of year we see low 50s for highs.
However, I can see us staying at least 10 degrees above those numbers at times for the upcoming week with a run for 70 degrees. Some relief for the heating bill? We’ll take it!
