I hope Freeport residents will join me in voting to reelect John Egan to Town Council.
Like many communities in Maine, Freeport is experiencing an acute shortage of affordable housing. John Egan’s day job is as senior program officer for strategic initiatives at the Genesis Fund, a nonprofit that has financed lower-income housing and community facilities throughout Maine. In other words, he has the professional skills and experience to help us solve the housing problem in Freeport. And as the former chief investment officer at Coastal Enterprises, a community development financial institution, John has the skills to help develop Freeport’s economy and keep its taxes low.
Finally, John also has the leadership skills that have inspired his co-councilors to elect him previously as chair and currently as vice chair.
For a more affordable and livable Freeport, vote for John Egan on Nov. 8.
