Scarborough senior Ali Mokriski signed her National Letter of Intent Wednesday to attend and play soccer next year at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Mokriski, who assisted on teammate Lana Djuranovic’s Gold Ball-winning goal in the second overtime of Saturday’s Class A state final, said that she was looking at several schools, but that Bryant was her top choice.

“I felt like I had a connection with the coaches and the girls and I loved the campus itself,” said Mokriski. “They just recently moved into America East, which is exciting because they’ll play bigger schools like Maine and (the University of New Hampshire).

“I knew since I was little that I wanted to play at a high level in college and I devoted a lot of my time to working hard to make this dream of mine come true. It feels so surreal to win states. I’ve watched the (game-winning) goal more times than I could count. I wanted to do that since I was a freshman. To do all that in one week, it couldn’t be better.”

Mokriski scored 22 goals and added 17 assists this fall. She will graduate as the Red Storm’s all-time leader in goals, assists and total points.
