Anne-Marie Brunelle

BIDDEFORD — Anne-Marie Brunelle, 84, of Biddeford, passed away on Nov. 6, 2022 at her home.

Anne-Marie was born on April 28, 1938, to Arthur and Adrienne (Gosselin) Brunelle. She was educated in Biddeford Schools and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1956. She went on to graduate from Holy Ghost Hospital School of Nursing in 1958 as a LPN. In 1972, Anne-Marie graduated from St. Anselm in Manchester, New Hampshire, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She served for 25 years with the Good Shepherd Sisters from 1958-1983. Anne-Marie also worked for the Trull Nursing Home and the Jewish Home for the Aged in Portland as well as St. Andre’s Health Care Facility for 20 years. She retired in 1993.

Anne-Marie loved to work on the family farm. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and knitting. She also loved taking care of people, especially her family.  Anne-Marie was a member of the Maine Nurse’s Association. She was also a proud member of St. Andre’s Church and then St. Joseph Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was active with the Spouse of the Holy Spirit Prayer Group and the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel Committee.

Anne-Marie is preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Father Richard P. Brunelle, a.a.; and brother-in-law, Ralph Petrin Jr.

She is survived by: sister, Claire Brunelle of Biddeford; sister, Therese Lessard (Donald) of Kennebunk; sister, Cecile Petrin of Sommersworth, New Hampshire; brother, Jacques Brunelle (Helen) of Long Beach, California; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 120 West St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Shepherds of Hope Campaign at Good Shepherd Parish, or to The Assumptionists, 330 Market St., Brighton, MA 02135.
