BIDDEFORD — Police in Biddeford are asking for the public’s help  after a vehicle  struck a 13-year-old pedestrian on Main Street on Nov. 11 and kept driving.

The 13-year-old girl was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland and treated for injuries that required hospitalization, said Deputy Police Chief JoAnne Fisk.

The incident took place  at about 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, near the entrance to the Main Street bridge on the Biddeford side.

“If you were in that area at the time and witnessed the incident, or if you recognize the vehicle from the image, please contact Biddeford Police Department at 207-282-5127,” said Fisk.

Fisk said the girl was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.

The vehicle, said Fisk, “left the scene without stopping or rendering aid.”

She said more information will be released as it becomes available.
