Allen Avenue in Portland will be closed to traffic at the railroad crossing at Morrill’s Corner from Sunday through Monday morning as crews work to upgrade the crossing.

The closure will begin at 6 a.m. Sunday and run through 6 a.m. Monday, the city of Portland said in a news release.

“Railroad crews will be working around the clock to upgrade the Allen Avenue railroad crossing,” the city said.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, and local access will be maintained on either side of the crossing for residents.
