Annual tree lighting

Carol singing will precede the annual Christmas tree lighting at Town Hall on Sunday, Nov. 27. Carols will begin at 4 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be available from 4:30-5:15 p.m. For more information, go to graymaine.org.

Flowers for Fire Rescue

Gray Fire Rescue Association has been selected to receive $1 from every Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet sold during December at Hannaford, 130 Shaker Road, Gray.

Loop Trail workshop

A public workshop on connecting Village Area Loop Trail from the Russell Elementary School area to the existing trail behind Town Hall has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1. Participants will meet at the Henry Pennell Municipal Complex, 24 Main St., for a brief overview and then walk the area of the proposed trail.

A presentation and discussion session will follow in town council chambers. Participants will be asked to provide feedback and suggestions. If you are unable to attend but would like to submit comments, please contact Community Planner Kristen Muszynski at kmuszynski@graymaine.org or 657-3339 ext. 114.

The town recently received a $66,877 Community Development Block Grant from Cumberland County to create the new section of the trail. For more information, including a map of the VALT trail system, visit graymaine.org/calendar.

Yarmouth Road work

A recording of a Nov. 14 public forum in improvements to Yarmouth Road is now available on the town’s YouTube channel. In addition, there’s a display about the proposed work at Town Hall.

Karate and basketball

Kids in pre-K through grade 6 can sign up for Phoenix No Limits Karate classes Nov. 20 through Dec. 11 at Newbegin Gym. Instructor Jeff Chandler of New Gloucester will instruct classes separated by ages. Scholarships are available.

For basketballers in pre-K through grade 2, Junior Basketball will begin Dec. 3 and continue through Jan. 21.
