In the Nov. 27 Maine Sunday Telegram interview with Sen. Susan Collins, “Her party needs ‘to take a hard look’ at itself” (Page A6), she is quoted as saying: “Why, during a time when we had record high inflation and out-of-sight gas and home heating oil prices and unaffordable grocery costs, did Republicans still not prevail?”
Might it be because these issues are global? The current administration is doing what they think needs to be done, which may or may not mitigate the situation. I didn’t see anything during the campaigns from Republicans as to what they would do if elected, so where’s the incentive to change course?
