Your arrangement of photos and headline for “Well, Joe, you can’t leave now,” by Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Will Bunch, really ticked me off.
Smack dab on the Nov. 20 Insight section front page (Page D1), you ran a two-column picture of Donald Trump in one of his characteristically offensive poses on top of a one-column image of a grim Joe Biden. What’s the visual message you are sending? To me, it says “Look at Trump, isn’t he big? Isn’t he scary? Isn’t he impressive? Focus on him!” You need to wean yourselves from the temptation to hype Donald Trump!
Stop picking at this scab on the Republican Party, on the Office of the President and on our civic culture. Trump is just the symptom – the branch, not the root – of our deeply divided and alienated body politic.
