SACO — Age Friendly Saco and the Saco Parks and Recreation’s Seniority program are encouraging people to get their Irish on for a dinner dance celebrating St. Patrick and the emerald isle 5-8 p.m. March 18 at Saco Community Center, 75 Franklin St.

Music is by the Saco River Band, and the meal is a traditional St. Patrick’s Day boiled dinner provided by the Golden Rooster Restaurant.

Because the event is near St. Patrick’s Day, which is the day before, attendees are encouraged to come dressed in green to celebrate the day.

Preregistration is required for the event, which includes an evening of socializing, dancing, music, dinner, and fun. People are asked to register online at www.sacorec.com or in-person at the Saco Community Center. Cost is $5.

Transportation is available for those otherwise unable to attend, said Age Friendly Saco Director Jean Saunders. Anyone needing transportation should call the Age Friendly Saco office at (207) 710-5029.

The organizers are extending their thanks to Thornton Academy student Juan Medina Lazcano, who designed the announcement poster.
