Nikolai Markovich had four goals while Shea Fogarty and Colin Watt each added two as the University of New England rolled to a 14-7 win over New England College on Thursday in Sparks Glencoe, Maryland.
The Nor’easters improved to 4-3 with the win while the Pilgrims fell to 0-5.
Jordan White, Will Szumita, Caleb Bowles, Andrew Lawrence and Joe O’Keefe also scored for UNE, which scored five straight goals to start the fourth quarter for a 14-4 lead.
SOFTBALL
SAN JOSE STATE 4, MAINE 1: Ashley Goard, Farrah Steffany and Ashley Legler combined on a five-hitter for the Spartans against the Black Bears in San Jose, California.
Krista Francia had two hits for the Black Bears, who left the bases loaded in the sixth inning and two runners on in the seventh.
SOUTHERN MAINE 3, NORTH PARK 1: Rona Scott had three hits with an RBI and Lauren Merrill pitched a six-hitter as the Huskies (1-4) downed the Vikings (2-4-1) in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Huskies scored two runs in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Ella Bezanso and an error that allowed Merrill to score. Scott singled home a run in the fifth.
Merrill struck out nine and walked one to improve to 1-2.
LORAS 1, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Jaydn Anderson drew a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning to give the Duhawks (5-3) the victory over the Huskies (1-5) in Kissimmee, Florida.
Southern Maine starter Lexus McIntosh struck out six and allowed six hits and two walks over 6 1/3 innings, then Belle Snyder struck out four and walked two the rest of the way.
Ashlyn Hemm had 14 strikeouts for Loras.
RAMAPO 9, U. OF NEW ENGLAND 4: Alexis Corra hit a three-run home run, Avery Kontura had a solo homer and a two-run double and the Roadrunners (9-2) beat the Nor’easters (2-5) at Kissimmee, Florida.
Grace Tutt hit a two-run home run for UNE.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
SMITH 8, SOUTHERN MAINE 4: Sadie Tschider and Gia Arancio each scored twice and the Pioneers (3-3) built a 7-2 lead and held on to beat the Huskies (1-4) in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Cierra Hill had two goals for the Huskies. Paige Rinaldi and Rachel Shanks also scored and Cece Racine made 11 saves.
BASEBALL
OSWEGO STATE 11, SOUTHERN MAINE 8: Colin Williams hit a two-run single, Blake VanDreason had an RBI double and Tishawn Featherstone added an RBI single as the Lakers (5-6) used a five-run rally to come from behind and beat the Huskies (1-6) at Davenport, Florida.
Donato Tocci had a two-run double for USM.
Anthony Poole chipped in with two hits, an RBI and a run scored.
