The woman called 911 call at 2:18 a.m. saying that she was trapped in the home at 64 Limerick Road in Arundel and that there was smoke in the building. Officials did not identify the woman.

When firefighters arrived, the front door was opened and firefighters discovered the home full of black smoke from floor to ceiling.

Arundel firefighter Zachary Audit went into the building with with a hose and rescued the woman. Firefighters searched the rest of the home and found no one else.

The woman was transported to the Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford and treated for smoke inhalation, according to a release by the Kennebunk Fire and Rescue Department.
