Yarmouth’s Latchstring Park Task Force has reached its $350,000 fundraising goal with a $40,000 grant from T-Mobile.

Task force Chairwoman Susan Prescott accepted the grant at a ceremony Friday at the part at the corner of West Maine and West Elm streets.

The Latchstring Park Task Force has been working since 2018 to raise money for improvements at the small park, which is home to the Latchstring Monument, dedicated to Yarmouth residents who contribute to the town through citizenship and leadership. Improvements include less asphalt and more greenery, benches, pole lights, bike racks and trash receptacles.

T-Mobile’s Hometown Grant program has awarded $7.8 million in grants to projects nationwide.
