Hires, promotions, appointments

Rita Dennis was promoted to independent living sales consultant at OceanView in Falmouth. She joined the business 23 years ago and has worked as a marketing and advertising coordinator.

Chris O’Connor has been named the Equality Community Center’s first executive director. He was previously the center’s manager. The ECC, based in Portland, is one of the largest LGBTQ+ community centers in the Northeast.

Pratt

Anne Dalton and Robert Hunter of Falmouth have been appointed to the Southern Maine Agency on Aging board of directors. Dalton is chairperson of the board of the United Way of Greater Portland, board secretary of the Portland Public Library and a a sustaining member of the Junior League of Portland. Hunter is vice president of finance at MaineHealth.

Kali Pratt of Cumberland has joined Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty as a real estate broker.

LeBlanc

Stephanie LeBlanc was hired by Maine Behavioral Healthcare as senior director of behavioral health systems and integrated services. For the past nine years, she served as the executive director of Oxford County Mental Health Services.

Recognition

Julia Munsey, president and CEO of Maine State Chamber of Commerce, was awarded the Midge Vreeland Public Service Award at the annual Golden Arrow Awards from the Maine Public Relations Council. Carol Higgins Taylor of Bryant Street Public Relati0ns received the Edward L. Bernays Award, and Rebecca Emery, Maine Public Relations Council board member, was awarded the President’s Award. Other awards in public relations and related fields were given to businesses and organizations.

Granted

FocusMaine, an economic development organization, has awarded Propel Aquaculture Mini Grants to several Maine businesses, including $10,000 each to Ferda Farms in Brunswick for their solar powered oyster processing project and Love Point Oysters in Harpswell and the Maine Oyster Company in Portland to buy more equipment. Wolfe Neck Oyster Company in Freeport received $9,815 for equipment updates.
