Eliza Stein scored her sixth goal of the game with 29 seconds left in overtime to lift Portland to a 12-11 come-from-behind win over Cheverus in girls’ lacrosse on Tuesday in Portland.

Elizabeth Littel scored three times for the Bulldogs (8-1), including the tying goal with 28 seconds left in regulation, and goalie Eva Smith made nine saves.

Sophia St. John scored four goals and Reese Belanger added three for Cheverus (4-4). Elle Cooney made 13 saves.

KENNEBUNK 18, BIDDEFORD 1: Ruby Sliwkowski had four goals and five assists as the Rams (10-0) rolled past the Tigers (8-2) in Kennebunk.

Ivy Armentrout and Camdyn Keenan added four goals and one assist each for Kennebunk. Mara Muse had a goal and two assists.

CAPE ELIZABETH 8, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 7: Kaity Woods led the Capers (4-4) with three goals as they edged the Panthers (4-4) in Cape Elizabeth.

Phoebe Altenburg chipped in two goals for Cape, and Campbell DeGeorge had a goal and two assists. Goalie Zoe Burgard racked up 12 saves.

Clara Taylor and Vy Tran scored two goals apiece to lead NYA.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 14, DEERING 7: Andrea Smith had four goals and two assists as the 26ers (2-7) beat the Rams (0-8) in Gray.

Amelia Foster contributed three goals for Gray-New Gloucester/Poland, and Emma McMahon had two goals and two assists. Ruby Taylor also scored twice, and Sam Poulin, Lexie Wallingford and Hannah Bolduc each added one goal.

Hailey Carson and Kaitlyn Morris tied Smith and McMahon for the team high in assists with two apiece. Goalie Lilah Thompson made nine saves for the 26ers.

Shay Rosenthal scored three goals for the Rams, and Anja Franck added two. Goalie Isabelle Adji stopped six shots.

GORHAM 6, MASSABESIC 3: Miranda Chasse finished with three goals to lead the Rams (5-3), who rallied past Massabesic (0-9) in Gorham.

Kaitlyn Nichols, Giselle Doucette and Ellie Gay also scored for Gorham, which trailed 3-2 at halftime.

Sydney Cyr, Paige Stephenson and Mackenzie Nason scored for Massabesic.

WELLS 14, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Summer Sullivan had three goals and two assists and Cali Leighton and Anna Woodward each scored three, powering the Warriors (7-2) past the Raiders (0-9) in Wells.

Caitlin Rooney had two goals and two assists for Wells. Kendall Maxon had a goal and two assists and Ellie Moore added a goal and one assist. Kayla Bolton made six saves.

Phoebe Sartory scored both goals for Fryeburg.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, SCARBOROUGH 2: Jacob Marcotte had five goals, and Ethan LeBlanc and Heath McLean each added two as the Trojans (6-4) beat the Red Storm (3-7) on senior night in Saco.

Ty DeSimone scored his first-career goal for Thornton Academy. Nick Paradis, Bo Preston and Nick Veroneau also scored.

MESSALONSKEE 10, OAK HILL 9: Cooper LeClair scored four goals in the first half as the Eagles (7-3) beat the Raiders (7-3) in Wales.

Will Durkee and Brady Brunelle each added two goals for Messalonskee.

Adam Hinkley scored five times for Oak Hill.

SOFTBALL

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 11, RICHMOND 1: Lily Rawnsley pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks as the Panthers (9-0) defeated Richmond (7-3) in five innings at Yarmouth.

Michala Wallace had three of the nine hits for NYA, including a double. The Panthers put it away with a five-run third inning that made it 10-0.

GORHAM 6, CHEVERUS 3: Andi Cloutier had a double, a home run and four RBI to lift the Rams (8-3) over the Stags (4-5) in Portland.

Amber Bretton went 2 for 4 with two RBI for Gorham. Kyleah Mack allowed two earned runs on eight hits and struck out three in a complete-game victory.

Anna Goodman had a double and two RBI for Cheverus. Eadie Nadeau notched an RBI single.

BASEBALL

PORTLAND 5, DEERING 4: Andrew Brewer delivered a one-out single to right field to cap a two-run seventh inning that lifted the Bulldogs (2-8) to a win over the Rams (0-10) at Hadlock Field.

With Portland trailing 4-3, Reegan Buck singled for Portland (2-8) in the seventh, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error. Henry Bibeau then walked and stole second before Brewer won it.

After Portland scored three in the first on Bibeau’s RBI single, an infield out and an error, the Rams took a 4-3 lead in the fourth on a three-run throwing error and Alex Jordan’s RBI single.

Liam Fay-LeBlanc, the winning pitcher, struck out 13 with one walk, allowing one earned run.

Avery Lawrence of Deering (0-10) held Portland hitless from one out in the first to one out in the seventh.

FREEPORT 6, GREELY 2: Gus Hollen hit a pair of RBI doubles and Ben Bolduc drove in two as the Falcons (6-5) defeated the Rangers (6-6) in Freeport.

Zane Aguiar pitched a complete game for Freeport, allowing one earned run on seven hits while striking out five.

Alex Gamache and Wyatt Soucie both had two singles for Greely.

FALMOUTH 10, WESTBROOK 3: Eli Cowperthwaite went 3 for 4 with two RBI and pitched five innings to earn the win as the Navigators (8-1) beat the Blue Blazes (4-6) in Falmouth.

Cowperthwaite struck out nine for Falmouth.

Jacoby Porter had a double, a single and drove in three runs for the Navigators, and Mitchell Ham also had a double and a single.

Josh Polchies walked and drove in a pair of runs.

Carter Dow had a two-run single and Connor Boulette an RBI double for Westbrook.

MARSHWOOD 3, NOBLE 0: Ben Garrepy, Ronan Garrett and Riley Parnham all drove in a run as the Hawks (7-3) blanked the Knights (5-5) in North Berwick.

Noah Fitzgerald threw a two-hit shutout for Marshwood. He stuck out seven and walked two.

Charlie Hudson had a pair of singles.

Carl Gregoire and Devin Place each had a hit for Noble.

SANFORD 5, MASSABESIC 3: Tyler Sevigny had three singles and scored during a five-run fourth inning that lifted the Spartans (6-4) over the Mustangs (5-5) in Sanford.

Tanner McCann pitched five innings and Tyler Brennan finished for Sanford, combining to allow six hits and two earned runs. Aaron Kiss gave up five runs but none were earned for Massabesic. He struck out six with no walks.

Ashton Smith and Zeke Rand had two hits each for the Mustangs.

THORNTON ACADEMY 4, BIDDEFORD 3: Owen Critchley pitched a four-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk for Thornton Academy (6-5), which took control with a four-run inning, then held off the Tigers (5-5) at Biddeford.

Jeremiah Chessie’s two-run single was the key hit in the four-run third for the Golden Trojans.

Biddeford came back with a three-run sixth that included RBI singles by Landon Sirois and Gavin Haggett.

Haggett struck out seven for Biddeford.
