Automatic runner Sam Lombardo raced home on a grounder by Gabe Harmon in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting Cape Elizabeth to an 8-7 win over Mt. Ararat in an interclass baseball game Thursday at Cape Elizabeth.

The Capers (10-1) forced extra innings by scoring two runs on an error in the seventh, tying the game at 6-6. Mt. Ararat (5-6) regained the lead in the top of the eighth, but Cape Elizabeth answered with a run in the bottom half.

Harmon finished with two RBI, and Lombardo scored three times. Andrew Choi got the win in relief of Jameson Bryant, allowing one earned run over the final six innings.

Landen Chase was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI for Mt. Ararat.

CHEVERUS 11, GORHAM 7: Lucas Soutuyo went 3 for 4 with four RBI, Noah Kennedy-Jensen drove in three runs and Devin Kelly homered as the Stags (7-4) outslugged the Rams (6-5) in Portland.

Cheverus collected 12 hits and held on after building a 6-0 lead in the first two innings.

Mason Finck and Miles Brenner each drove in two runs, and Cole Whitehead and Cody Sellick had two hits for Gorham.

SCARBOROUGH 4, WESTBROOK 3: Erik Swenson and Zakary Sanders combined on a one-hitter, and Ashton Blanchette singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Red Storm (9-2) rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Blue Blazes (4-7) in Westbrook.

Westbrook took a 3-0 lead with three unearned runs in the fourth inning. Scarborough tied it in the fifth.

Jason Liponis led the Red Storm with three hits. Quincy Seavey got the only hit for Westbrook.

SOUTH PORTLAND 9, MARSHWOOD 0: Andrew Heffernan pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts for his fourth shutout of the season, and also had two hits and three RBI to lead the Red Riots (10-2) past the Hawks (7-4) at South Berwick.

Hudson Iacuessa contributed three hits and two RBI. Nolan Hobbs had a single and a double and scored twice.

Noah Fitzgerald hit a double and a single for Marshwood.

FALMOUTH 6, BIDDEFORD 0: Brennan Rumpf gave up just two hits over 6 1/3 innings and hit an RBI single to lead the Navigators (9-1) past the Tigers (5-6) at Falmouth.

Peyton Mitchell was 3 for 3 at the plate and got the final two outs to finish the shutout. Ethan Hendry hit an RBI triple and scored twice, and Jacoby Porter had a two-run single.

Biddeford’s Gino Mariello allowed five hits and one earned run over five innings.

WINDHAM 7, NOBLE 4: Login Desrochers doubled twice and drove in two runs, Brady Harvie also had two hits and two RBI, and the Eagles (4-7) broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run fourth inning against the Knights (5-6) in Windham.

The Eagles also got two hits and an RBI from Ethan Barker. Ethan Clapp went the distance on the mound, allowing seven hits.

Nathan Locke and Devin Place each had two hits and Owen Gray hit a two-run double for Noble.

THORNTON ACADEMY 11, DEERING 1: A.J. Thibodeau’s three-run inside-the-park home run capped a five-run second inning that started the Golden Trojans (7-5) on their way to a five-inning win over the Rams (0-11) at Hadlock Field.

Mason Collins opened the scoring with a two-run single, and Thibodeau’s home run made it 5-0.

Thibodeau finished with four RBI. Collins drove in three runs and scored three, and Henry Lausier hit a double and a triple.

Josh Penney, Beck Edgerly and Jeremiah Chessie combined on a one-hitter, allowing only a fourth-inning single to Zade Smith.

KENNEBUNK 17, WINDHAM 3: Ruby Sliwkowski scored seven goals to power the Rams (11-0) past the Eagles (7-4) at Kennebunk.

Sophia Notine added three goals, and Ivy Armentrout and Camdyn Keenan added two apiece for the top-ranked team in the Varsity Maine top 10. Kennebunk extended its winning streak to 43 games.

Mara Muse had a goal and two assists for Windham.

WELLS 15, LAKE REGION 3: Summer Sullivan scored five goals and Anna Woodward added four as the Warriors (8-2) cruised to a win over the Lakers (4-6) at Wells.

Caitlin Rooney chipped in with two goals. Kendall Maxon had a goal and two assists.
