The American Legion will join the Deering Center Neighborhood Association’s Memorial Day observance this year.
A procession will begin at 2 p.m. in front of Longfellow School on Stevens Avenue and end at Evergreen Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.
No parade will be held on Congress Street.
Portland City Hall and city offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of the holiday.
