Caitlin Seitz pitched a perfect game with 10 strikeouts, and Gabby Swain singled home Sophia Morin in the fourth inning as Brunswick earned a 1-0 win over Lake Region in an interclass softball game Saturday in Brunswick.

Seitz (5-0) has yet to allow an earned run this season. She was coming off a one-hitter Wednesday in a 2-0 victory over Messalonskee.

Lake Region pitcher Melissa Mayo allowed five hits. The Dragons (9-6) broke through against Mayo in the fourth when Morin doubled, took third on a sacrifice bunt by Ellie Sullivan and scored on Swain’s hit down the third-base line.

The Lakers are now 10-4.

BASEBALL

SOUTH PORTLAND 5, SCARBOROUGH 3: Hudson Iacuessa hit a tiebreaking two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, capping a three-run rally as the Red Riots (12-3) beat the Red Storm (10-5) in South Portland.

Nick Swain picked up the win after two hitless innings in relief of Nolan Hobbs.

Harrison Griffiths took the loss despite striking out nine and allowing only one earned run in 5 2/3 innings. Ashton Blanchette had two hits for Scarborough.

CHEVERUS 7, BIDDEFORD 6: The Stags (9-6) erased a 3-1 deficit with a five-run rally in the fifth inning and held on to defeat the Tigers (6-9) in Biddeford.

Matthew Connor was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI, and Lucas Soutoyo drove in two runs for Cheverus. Christopher Murphy got the win in relief, allowing six hits and one earned run over the final four innings.

Jacob Kaiser was 2 for 4 with two runs, and Landon Sirois had two RBI for Biddeford.

NOBLE 4, PORTLAND 1: Carl Gregoire pitched a four-hitter, and Devin Place was 3 for 4 with two RBI as the Knights (7-8) defeated the Bulldogs (2-14) in North Berwick.

Noble scored twice in the second inning to grab a 2-1 lead, then tacked on two runs in the sixth.

Gregoire struck out eight and walked two.

WINDHAM 6, WESTBROOK 1: Blake Peeples took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and finished with a one-hitter, leading the Eagles (6-9) past the Blue Blazes (5-10) in Windham.

An RBI single by pinch hitter Steven White with one out in the seventh broke up the no-hit bid. Peeples then ended the game by inducing a double-play grounder.

Peeples struck out two, walked two and needed just 74 pitches.

Wyatt Washburn drove in three runs and scored two as the Eagles got three runs in the second and three more in the third. Cayden McCartney and Erik Bowen each had two hits.

KENNEBUNK 8, MASSABESIC 4: Drew Sliwkoswki had three hits, including a two-run double, as the Rams (8-7) defeated the Mustangs (7-8) at Waterboro.

Quinn MacDonald added two hits and an RBI. Isaac Jensen worked the first five innings on the mound for Kennebunk, allowing one run on four hits. Hayden Furber pitched the final two innings for a save.

Collin Scully led Massabesic with two hits.

WELLS 7, FREEPORT 0: Spencer Carpenter had three hits, including a double and a home run, and pitched a five-hitter to lead the Warriors (11-4) past the Falcons (8-7) in Freeport.

Caleb Moody also recorded with three hits and drove in three runs. Carpenter finished with two RBI.

SACOPEE VALLEY SWEEPS MT. VIEW: Grady Cummings pitched a no-hitter in Game 1, and Brady Metcalf hit a tiebreaking three-run double in the seventh inning of Game 2 as the Hawks (14-0) swept a doubleheader against the Mustangs (7-8), winning 3-0 and 6-1 in Thorndike.

Cummings struck out 10 and issued one walk in the opener.

Caleb Vacchiano was 3 for 3 in the second game, including an RBI double in the fifth inning that tied the game at 1-1.

Austin Croteau and Keegan Thibodeau each finished the doubleheader with three hits.
