Analiese Larson and Emily H. Martin last week launched a write-in campaign for the Falmouth School Board.
They hope to unseat Jen Libby and Matt Pines, who are running for reelection on the June 13 ballot.
Neither Larson nor Martin could be reached for comment before The Forecaster’s deadline. In a press release announcing their write-in campaign, they said are framing their effort “as the beginnings of a school-board refresh in the wake of a tumultuous school year.” They point to “mismanagement” by the board, including “unnecessarily contentious teacher contract negotiations and a misguided approach to campus master planning efforts.”
“Sadly, we have too many examples of systemic issues with Falmouth’s current school board. The system will not change unless we change it,” Martin said in the statement. A small business owner and parent of Falmouth students, she has been active in the school district.
Larson served two terms on the School Board, from 2008-2014.
“I know from experience that a system is best served when you have good processes and strong relationships. I’m excited to be part of a team that’s focused on rebuilding both,” she said in the statement.
