Djuranovic

Lana Djuranovic is the daughter of Nevena and Goran Djuranovic. Lana was the captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team and girls’ varsity tennis team, as well as a member of the National Honor Society, Unified Basketball and Sources of Strength. During all four years of high school she participated in the soccer and tennis programs, and for two years participated in Unified Basketball. Her awards and honors include the AP Scholar Award, Seal of Biliteracy, Rochester Institute of Technology Book Award, and two May awards. Lana will attend the University of Miami in the fall, playing Division I Women’s Soccer and majoring in biology on the pre-dental track.

Ramirez

Adriana Ramirez is the daughter of Kristen Seavey and Abrahan Ramirez. Adriana was a member of the National Honor Society, RSVP club, and works at Jersey Mikes after school. During all four years of high school she participated in the chorus programs, serving as section leader for junior and senior year. Her awards and honors include a vocal recognition certificate from the Senate for participation in singing at the national level, the RIT Humanities and Social Sciences Book Award, continuous honor roll, a Defensive Player Improvement Award in lacrosse, and winning first place in the Scarborough talent show two years in a row. Adriana will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.

Stoddard-Baughman

Bailey Stoddard-Baughman is the daughter of Erika Stoddard. Bailey was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. During all four years of high school she played soccer and ran both indoor and outdoor track, serving as captain of both track teams her senior year. Her honors and awards include Outstanding Achievement in French I, Most Outstanding Student in Environmental Science, and Excellence in Honors Biology. Athletic awards include the Freshman Award, the Sophomore Award, the Coaches Award, the Junior Award, MVP, and multiple state titles. Bailey attend Suffolk University in the fall, majoring in biology and running track.

Venegoni-Ranger

Calvin Venegoni-Ranger is the son of Matthew and Angela Ranger. Calvin was the treasurer for the Class of 2024 all four years of high school and was part of the Gym Dandies Children’s Circus and the technical theater production crew for Scarborough theater. He works for the district in the technical production of events at the Winslow Homer Center for the Arts. He also started his own successful photography business and recently was nominated to participate in the Maine Congressional Art Awards for photography. He was recently awarded the Good Citizen’s Award by the Daughters of the American Revolution organization for merit. Calvin will attend Husson University in Bangor in the fall, pursuing a degree in audio engineering.

Furr

Sebastian Furr is the son of Scott and Anna Furr. Sebastian was heavily involved throughout his four years at Scarborough High School as a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club, and he served as president of the Interact Club. He also played soccer and lacrosse all four years. In his senior year, he was awarded the 2024 SMAA Citizenship Award for his character and contributions on and off the field. Sebastian will attend Clemson University in the fall to study nursing.

Keller

Owen Keller is the son of Gina and Ben Keller. Owen was the president of his freshman and sophomore class and secretary of the senior class. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Reducing Sexism and Violence Program, Civil Rights and Sources of Strength. He has participated in the One-Act Festival, including co-writing the play that won first place this year in the regional competition. He also performs in Shakespeare in the Park and the Oak Hill Players Fall Musical. Owen was awarded Best History Student, Best Literature Student and Best Spanish Student, achieved the state Seal of Biliteracy for Spanish and received the Susan B. Anthony award for social justice. He was also nominated to attend the Seeds of Peace Leadership Summer Camp between his freshman and sophomore years. Outside of school Owen performs with a band through Maine Academy of Modern Music. He will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.

Couture

Brayden Couture is the son of Gary and Brandi Couture. Brayden was a member of the National Honor Society and Interact Club and enjoyed volunteering many hours coaching youth basketball summer camps for SHS and Scarborough Travel Basketball. He participated in the basketball program all four years of high school, as well as lacrosse during his freshman year. His honors and awards include the Rensselaer Medal of Honor Award, the AP Scholar Award, the Student Athlete Award for SHS Varsity Basketball, and selection to the Maine McDonald’s Basketball All-State Academic Team. Brayden will attend Penn State University in the fall to study engineering.

MacLeod

Dillon MacLeod is the son of Michael and Karyn MacLeod. Dillon was a member of the National Honor Society, treasurer of the Key Club and a junior volunteer at Maine Medical Center. He was a four-year member of the soccer team and team leader his senior season, and he was a two-year member of the lacrosse team. Dillon was awarded for being an Outstanding Student in AP Physics. He will attend Hamilton College in the fall where he will study physics.

Bouchard

Benjamin Bouchard is the son of Peggy Bouchard. Ben ran cross country and indoor and outdoor track for all four years. He received the Four-Year Varsity Award in cross country. Ben is in the National Honor Society and is on the SMAA All-Academic Team for cross country and track. He earned the University of Rochester Xerox Book Award for Innovation. Other awards and honors he has received include Excellence in AP biology and the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. Ben participated in the Junior Volunteer Program at MMC and the Keller Bloom Program. He will be attend the University of Maine in the fall.

Faries

Thomas Faries is the son of Nathan Faries and Mia Liu. Thomas was senior class president, salutatorian and sergeant at arms of the Model U.N. Club and was a member of Sources of Strength and the National Honor Society. His awards include the Yale Book Award, the school Spanish award, and the school Video Production award. In his spare time, he enjoys making music and reading. Thomas will attend Brown University this fall where he plans to study philosophy and computer science, and he plans to attend law school.

Sawyer

Alana Sawyer is the daughter of Marc and Kate Sawyer. Alana was a member of the National Honor Society, ECOS, Sources of Strength and Key Club. She has participated on the varsity softball and volleyball teams during all four years of high school, serving as co-captain of both teams her senior year. Alana was a member of the All-State Volleyball Team in 2022, the SMAA All-Conference teams for both sports as well as the All-Academic Team. She has received the RIT Book award, as well as Outstanding Achievement in AP French. Alana will attend Quinnipiac University in the fall.

Cote

Samantha Cote is the daughter of Kevin and Elizabeth Cote. Samantha was a member of the National Honor Society and was a Key Club board member for four years.  She played varsity softball for four years, serving as co-captain her senior year. She was a member of the varsity volleyball team during her junior and senior years and qualified for the SMAA All-Academic Team. She participated in soccer during her freshman and sophomore years. As a junior, Samantha received the Rochester Institute of Technology Business and Leadership Award. She was recently awarded the Maine Seal of Biliteracy for proficiency in French. Samantha will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall.

Cashman

Danica Cashman is the daughter of Karen and Kevin Cashman. Danica is the treasurer of the National Honor Society, a member of Key Club and participated in the Inside Medicine program. Since second grade and continuing through her senior year, Danica competed in gymnastics, becoming a six-time Maine state champion and a seven-time regional qualifier. Her honors and awards include the Spanish Seal of Biliteracy, the Brandeis University Book Award, and Most Outstanding Student in AP World Studies. Danica will attend the University of Maryland this fall as a kinesiology major.

Martin

Jersey Martin is the daughter of Lauren and Bernard Martin. Jersey was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, math team, girl’s lacrosse team, outdoor track team, Gym Dandies, Shakespeare Troupe and chorus. During all four years of high school she participated in the field hockey and indoor track programs. Her honors and awards include the Dartmouth Book Award, Four-Year Varsity Letter Award, the Seal of Biliteracy in French, the Maine Top Scholars Award, the AP Scholar Award and eight May awards. Jersey will attend the University of Maine as a part of the Honors College and nursing program in the fall.

Wardrop

Brooke Wardrop is the daughter of Tara and Michael Wardrop. Brooke was treasurer in Model United Nations, bulletin editor of Key Club and a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She participated in tennis, volleyball, indoor track and field hockey. Her honors and awards include the St. Anselm Book Award, Maine State Seal of Biliteracy in Latin, Maxima Cum Laude in Latin II, Magna Cum Laude in AP Latin prose, Summa Cum Laude in Latin I and Outstanding Achievement in Latin I. Brooke will  attend the United States Naval Academy in the fall.

Desjardins

Lillian Desjardins is the daughter of Kim and Todd Desjardins. Lillian was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and the Key Club Board. During all four years of high school she participated in the tennis and track programs and volunteered at Preble Street, Maine Medical Center and for many other local service projects. Her honors and awards include the Smith Book Award, Seal of Biliteracy in Latin, Excellences in honors biology, honors Latin and honors physics. She received Maxima Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude and Cum Laude awards from the National Latin Exam. Lillian will attend the University of South Carolina in the fall to pursue a degree in biology.

Cloutier

Logan Cloutier is the daughter of Shannon and John Cloutier and is this year’s valedictorian. Logan was co-president of the Aquaponics Club and a member of the Math Team, Key Club and National Honor Society. Outside of school she was a member of the MMC Junior Volunteer Program, where she received the Betsanne Holmes Leadership Award; a lead participant in Inside Medicine; and a competitive gymnast of eight years, winning  awards at the state and regional levels. During her junior year she was one of 20 Maine juniors accepted to the MERITS program, where she conducted neurogenetic research at UNE. Her honors and awards include 13 SHS academic awards, the Princeton Book Award, being named a Presidential Scholars Program candidate and a National Merit Finalist. Logan will attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall to study biomedical engineering on a pre-med track.

Strouse

Julia Strouse is the daughter of David and Stephanie Strouse. Julia served as lieutenant governor for Division 4 of the New England & Bermuda District of Key Clubs, press secretary/media relations officer for Model U.N., and was a member of National Honor Society. She was a four-year member of the varsity volleyball and tennis teams, serving as co-captain of the volleyball team for her junior and senior years. She was twice named to the SMAA All-Conference volleyball team, and named to the SMAA All-Academic Team. She spent three summers volunteering at Maine Medical Center, serving as a team lead the summer before her senior year. She received the Saint Michael’s College Book Award and earned the AP Scholar with Honor Award and the Maine Seal of Biliteracy. Julia will attend Wake Forest University in the fall.

Lyford

Noah Lyford is the son of Chris and Cari Lyford. Throughout his time at SHS, Noah was highly involved with music. He acted in musicals, sang in chorus and performed in the Jinkus student rock band. He was president of the National Honor Society, received the Seal of Biliteracy in Latin, and was selected to perform in district and state choir festivals. Noah will attend Oberlin College in the fall.

McFarland

Crystal McFarland is the daughter of Kelly and Kevin McFarland. She was in Art Club for three years and received a Silver key and an Honorable Mention for the 2024 Scholastic Awards as a senior. She also received the Seal of Biliteracy in French.

Grinyuk

Nadia Grinyuk is the daughter of Heather Robinson and Andrei Grinyuk. Nadia was the president of the Environmental Club, co-president of the Aquaponics Club and a member of the National Honor Society and Sources of Strength. During her four years of high school she participated in the varsity swimming, cross country and field hockey programs, serving as co-captain of the swim team her junior and senior year. Her honors and awards include the Captain’s Award for swimming, MVP Senior in Cross Country, Excellence in French and AP U.S. History and the Wells College Leadership Award. Nadia will attend Smith College in the fall to study biology and English.

Hayward

Simon Hayward is the son of Chris and Jen Hayward. Simon participated on the math team. He will attend Northeastern University and will study computer science.

Hutchins

Nathan Hutchins is the son of Christina and Michael Hutchins. Nathan is one of the co-presidents of the Film Education Society of Scarborough and a member of the National Honor Society. Nathan has been the drummer in Jinkus for the past three years. Honors and awards include three National Latin Exam gold medals, Maine State Seal of Biliteracy in Latin, Latin II Award for Outstanding Achievement, and the AP physics Award for Excellence.
