After reading the endless stream of letters criticizing Sen. Collins for stating her opinion on the NYC Trump trial, the latest letter suggests that she should stand up to Trump the bully, as Margaret Chase Smith stood up to Joe McCarthy.

I believe that Sen. Collins’ opinion is not that far off from what a lot of people believe, including most of the people who no longer read your newspaper. There has only been one letter published that agreed with Collins. I would venture to say that maybe she is the one who is being bullied at this point, in a manner similar to what happened to Alan Dershowitz, who neither supports Trump nor would vote for him, as the senator has stated.

Dershowitz is a pariah in his own party and on Martha’s Vineyard for seeing and stating that what’s happening to Trump legally is not right. He is no longer welcome on the Harvard campus where he was a law professor for years. It seems like the bullying goes both ways.
