Music venue One Longfellow Square has teamed up with Friends of Congress Square Park to present several free shows this summer.

The series is called Square to Square, and the next concert is Thursday.

Head to the park at 6 p.m. for a performance by the Portland Jazz Orchestra, featuring vocalist Katie Oberholtzer.

Portland Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2004 by Dr. Chris Oberholtzer, and the 19-piece ensemble has been a mainstay at One Longfellow Square for nearly that entire time.

Along with original tunes, the orchestra plays music from Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Stan Kenton, among several other jazz greats.

Some of the other bands scheduled to play at Congress Square Park include Tricky Britches on June 27, Raging Brass on July 11, Heather Pierson Band on July 18 and Darlin’ Corey on July 25.
