Westbrook voters approved a $51 million school budget for 2024-25 in a second referendum held Tuesday. The vote was 997-859, said City Clerk Angela Holmes.

The School Committee trimmed several positions and other expenses from the $51.7 million budget that voters rejected on June 11, according to City Council documents.

The cuts reduced the annual school budget increase from 9.62% to 8.09% and the impact on the school’s share of the tax rate from $10.69 to $10.44.
