Two infants were among the five people taken to the hospital after a two-car crash in Woolwich on Friday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Montsweag Road around 9:45 a.m. Friday. The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office believes the driver of a Subaru was trying to make a left turn onto Route 1 from Montsweag Road and pulled into the path of a Chrysler driver headed northbound on Route 1, the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook.
Jennifer Therrien, of Lisbon, was behind the wheel of the Chrysler, which also contained an adult passenger and the two infants. Therrien’s vehicle collided with the Subaru, driven by Delores Lake, of Woolwich, according to the sheriff’s office.
All of the occupants of the cars were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, the sheriff’s office said. The office did not say what their conditions were.
The crash is under investigation.
